Congrats, India! Launch of PSLV-C33/IRNSS-1G

It's not getting a lot of press here in the US, but India has a pretty awesome space program.  They just finished orbiting their 7th navigation satellite.  This gives them a completely home-grown alternative to GPS.

Here's the launch of  PSLV-C33/IRNSS-1G.

I'm curious about these sheets that appear to fly off just after liftoff.

My country learned a very painful lesson about the cost of falling ice and foam during launch.
